Renmin University of China
Renmin University of China (RUC) is a comprehensive research-oriented university focusing on humanities and social sciences. The university’s overriding tasks have consistently been the pursuit of truth and progress, cultural transmission and educating the country’s future elites. RUC is an important base for training high-caliber professionals in the social sciences and humanities and houses a number of influential research centers and think tanks. The School of Public Administration and Policy in RUC has been one of the best public management schools in China, with various disciplines closely related to urban planning and urban management, such as land management, public policy, public finance, etc.
Laws of urban development
Established in January 2007, the Department of Urban Planning and Management at RUC is the first planning program under the perspective of Public Administration in China. The Department focuses on the academic frontier of research on the transformation from Chinese urban planning to the public policy, actively explores the inherent law of urban development and expands a new space for the discipline of Public Administration to better serve the urbanization development in China.

The Department has formed a young and energetic academic team having great innovation ability and a teaching system and research framework that combine the international frontier theories with China’s urban development planning practices.
