Lei Zhang

Dr. Lei Zhang is associate professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Management, School of
Public Administration and Policy, at Renmin University of China.

Zhang’s research focuses on land development control, informal urbanization and urban planning theory. With special interest in the impacts of urbanization on land use, informal economy and indigenous communities of urban fringe, both in the China and internationally, he has published two books and authored or co-authored more than thirty scholarly paper and professional reports on those issues in both English and Chinese.
